How the project was born

We are Anna and Albert, a couple that in 2021 left behind life in the city of Barcelona to start a new project in the village of Moià, where we found the house of our dreams. Nothing more and nothing less than one of the three listed houses that are part of the heritage complex that belonged to the Tenor Francesc Viñas, great interpreter of Richard Wagner’s works.

Although the house was in a state of abandonment, this noucentista architectural jewel captivated our heart, and with great dedication and care, we have rehabilitated it to preserve its authenticity and splendor. And not only we decided to turn it into our living space but also into our life project: a small and familiar Bed&Breakfast.

This is how Bell Plançó B&B came about. A project where the most important thing for us is to make known the great heritage we have in our country and to share this space with our guests.

History of the house

The house, of noucentista style, is located in the village of Moià, at number 5 of Richard Wagner street, originally called Segaró street. It is part of the modernist-novecentista heritage set of three houses that belonged to the Tenor Francesc Viñas, renowned opera singer and founder of the «Lliga per a la defensa de l’Arbre Fruiter», a pioneer environmental association in the country. It is from here that we were inspired to name our small hotel «Bell Plancó».

The house was built by the Tenor between 1920-1924, but the architects are unknown. It is known as «Cal Metge Rius» because the doctor of the village of Moià lived and worked there for many years. It adjoins the «Casa del Mig», the house where Tenor Viñas was born.

After many years of neglect, we rehabilitated the whole house to restore its heritage value and decided to create a space on the first floor and turn it into a small bed & breakfast, to open it to the people and share it with all citizens.
